The February new moon falls in the very last degree of air sign Aquarius on the 19th February – the second Aquarian new moon of 2015. The Chinese celebrate their New Year at this new moon which ushers in the Year of the Green or Wood Sheep (also known as the Year of the Goat).
The new moon in Aquarius on the 31st January marks the Chinese New Year - the Year of the Green Horse or Wood Horse. Those born in 1930, 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990 and 2002 are all born in the Year of the Horse.
The new moon in Aquarius on the 10th February marks the Chinese New Year - the Year of the Black Snake or Water Snake. Those born in 1929, 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989 and 2001 are all born in the Year of the Snake.
The Chinese Year of the Water Dragon begins on the 23rd January at the Aquarian new moon. Those born in 1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988 and 2000 are all born in the Year of the Dragon.
The Chinese Year of the Metal Rabbit begins on the 3rd February at the Aquarian new moon. Those born in 1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987 and 1999 are all born in the year of the Rabbit (some call it the year of the Cat).
The Chinese Year of the Metal Tiger begins on the 14th February at the Aquarian new moon. Those born in 1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986 and 1998 are all born in the year of the Tiger.
The Chinese Year of the Brown Earth Ox begins on the 26th January at the Aquarian new moon. Those born in 1925, 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985 and 1997 are all born in the year of the Ox. Oxen are traditionally stable, persevering and tolerant individuals with very strong wills.
