OCTOBER MAGIC & MANIFESTATION COURSE
I’m planning another eight week Magic & Manifestation course starting in early October in Elwood, Melbourne. Full details including course dates will soon be posted on the website and as an AstroUpdate subscriber you will receive a special advance invitation to join the course. The last one was so popular I had to turn people away! I’m really looking forward to this next one to see what magic the universe brings.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LEO
The Sun travels through fire sign Leo from 23rd July – 23rd August. Leo is the fifth sign of the zodiac with keywords “I express” and “I stand out”. Leo’s symbol is the lion, king of the beasts, but also the beast within who must be subdued and civilised. Lions in art and myth are symbols of strength, supremacy, glory and brilliance. Leos are extremely creative and love to show off their talents. They are often attracted to the performing arts or any role where they can shine and lead others. At best they are loving, loyal, affectionate and sincere, displaying willpower, courage, dignity and leadership and radiating confidence. Negatively, Leos can be arrogant, bossy, vain and over-dramatic. Leo rules the heart, circulatory system and spine. When Leos are out of balance they can suffer from back pain, nervous palpitations, high blood pressure, fever, stroke and heart disease. The Leo colours are gold and orange. Leo is ruled by the Sun, so those with a prominent Sun in their chart often display Leo qualities. Leo’s greatest lesson is to learn that they are not the centre of the universe. The true leader is the servant of all!
How to handle a Leo
It’s very simple. Madonna is a Leo. Mick Jagger is a Leo. What do all Leos crave? An audience. Be that audience and watch the lion turn to putty in your hands. Buy them chocolates, flowers and fun stuff. Remember that underneath the elegant or bluff exterior, most Leos are young at heart and have no intention of growing up!
SEDUCING A LEO \
TIPS FOR MEN
Learn about cocktails. Learn about perfume. Learn about flowers. Learn about what women like. Then surprise her with your new found knowledge. Try Latin dancing or tango or anything that will lift you out of the ranks of the dull and unadventurous. This woman is screaming out for someone with a bit of flair! But if you've chosen to chase a Lioness, watch out - she has sharp claws for those who like playing with fire. Show her you know that she's the boss and she'll warm to you and lie down and purr! She likes a partner who is fun to be with and approaches life with a sense of play and adventure. Could you be the one?
TIPS FOR WOMEN
A Leo guy wants his partner to show him he's the centre of the universe, so be proud of him in public and in private too. Avoid cynicism and teasing and don’t be stingy. Gifts go down well coupled with lots of warmth, admiration and affection. Leo is the drama queen of the zodiac so enjoy being in the audience! This man likes to show off and be seen in cool places. Pick him up in a taxi and take him for a lavish night out on the town. He'll recognise your style & admire you for taking the trouble. And next time he'll raise the stakes and try to outdo you, because Leo has to be the best! And isn't that why you like him?
AUGUST ASTRO-ENERGIES
Sensual Venus heads into homely Cancer from on the 1st and stays there all month, prompting us to spend time with family and loved ones. Bake cakes and pies, visit your parents, snuggle up on the couch with a hot chocolate or catch up with all those books and DVDs.
Mercury, the planet of rational thought moves into home sign Virgo on the 3rd and will remain there until late in the month. August is an ideal time to complete your tax return, write or network, buy a new car or computer or undertake any activity that requires clear, organised thought.
The August full moon falls on the 6th in Aquarius, accompanied by a lunar eclipse - the third eclipse in the past four weeks! Eclipses have a tendency to bring hidden things to the surface, clear out old energy and shed a new light on events in your life. The theme for this eclipse is the ability to cut through obstacles and speed up natural evolution through mental focus, hard work and self discipline.
For the entire week following the full moon (6th-13th), a difficult aspect forms between Mars and Saturn, traditionally considered the two most challenging or ‘malefic’ planets. Mars in Gemini wants to speed forward impulsively, while Saturn in Virgo puts on the brakes, causing feelings of frustration and impatience at best and making projects grind to a standstill at worst. Exercise patience and work steadily and methodically to bring projects to fruition. Or… remembering that Venus is in Cancer this month, a retreat to the couch with the aforementioned hot chocolate could be a more attractive option!
Mars moves into another challenging aspect with Uranus from the 14th-21st – think of a turbocharged rocket blast off! Energy flies all over the place, so fasten your seatbelt and expect the unexpected. The usual advice is to drive carefully, look before you leap and do lots of exercise to expend the excess energy.
And as if Mars vs. Saturn, followed by Mars vs. Uranus weren’t enough, the warrior planet then opposes transformational Pluto, ruler of the unconscious realms, from the 21st-28th August. This planetary combination takes no prisoners, so if you’re feeling angry, take a deep breath, write down your grievances and formulate an action plan. On the other hand, the sheer power of Mars Pluto can help ruthlessly remove obstacles to change and growth or give you a burst of superhuman energy.
The moon’s north node heads into Capricorn on the 22nd, meaning Capricorn themes will be highlighted over the next 18 months in both a positive and a negative manner. These themes include tradition, law-making, government, building, finance and business. The more negative side of Capricorn relates to greed, power and unnecessary hierarchy. The past couple of years have shown us exactly what needs to change in our world – Capricorn helps us put laws and structures into place to implement these changes. The coming period will favour those who are thrifty, practical, responsible, hard working and self-disciplined.
The Sun moves into health conscious Virgo on the 23rd, so prepare for the spring season ahead with plenty of fresh air and moderate exercise to wake up the body after the winter hibernation period.
Watch out for old flames resurfacing from the 25th-27th as love planet Venus passes over the moon’s south node, a point relating to past karma and relationships. Communication planet Mercury moves into diplomatic Libra on the 26th promoting harmony in partnerships, so if you’ve been dreaming about someone from your past, this could be a good time to get in touch.
Finally, home renovations, shed clearouts and jobs round the house are on the menu after the 26th as practical Mars heads into Cancer. And if DIY is not your scene, how about a spring shopping spree as fashion conscious Venus sashays her way through Leo from the 27th onwards?
IMBOLC – FESTIVAL OF LIGHT
The Celts celebrated eight fire festivals each year marking the seasonal changes and occurring roughly every 6-½ weeks. Imbolc at the beginning of August heralds the end of winter and the return of the light. Although the nights are still long, the first signs of spring are beginning to appear. A beautiful folk custom, still practiced in many countries, is to place a lighted candle in each window of the house at sunset or to carry a lighted white candle through the home to welcome the growing strength of the sun. Energy starts to increase at this time of year, so now is the time to tackle the spring cleaning and as the Sun moves into health conscious Virgo on the 23rd, blow away the winter blues with a sauna or spa treatment
