Wheel of the Zodiac Astrology Workshop
Sunday 18th March – Book Now!
We all know there’s more to astrology than star signs so if you’ve always dreamed of deepening your knowledge, this morning workshop is specially designed for those with little or no knowledge of Astrology who’d like to learn more about this fascinating subject. You might know you’re a Gemini or Cancer, but do you know your moon sign? And what about your Ascendant or Rising Sign? And more importantly, do you know what it all means and how to use this knowledge to maximise your potential and live in harmony with your environment?
Whether you're a pragmatic earth sign, a passionate fire sign, an emotional water sign or a mentally driven air sign, I promise you'll leave with a greater understanding of what makes you tick (and your partner... and your mother... or your boss!)
Loved your Wheel of the Zodiac workshop Stella! I’ll never think of myself as ‘just a Libra’ ever again, now I know I’ve got Moon in Leo – makes a lot of sense. And believe it or not, the workshop also helped me understand my husband better, which can only be good for marital harmony. Plus you’re a great presenter and the cake was delicious! Thanks a lot Maree xx

Featured Sign-Pisces
From the 19th February to the 20th March, the sun travels through mutable water sign Pisces, noted for her dreaminess, escapist nature and love of fantasy. Pisces is the twelfth and final sign of the zodiac with keywords, “I merge” and “I seek redemption”. With Pisces, the inner self is preparing for retreat from the world and as the ego dissolves, boundaries are weakened and impressionability and sensitivity increases. Pisceans are versatile and adaptable, gentle and compassionate. They are often psychic and highly attuned to the spiritual plane. Those born under the sign of the Fishes excel as counsellors, healers, actors, artists and musicians. Many are attracted to the fashion, beauty and movie industries whilst others work with those on the fringe of society – the elderly and sick, people with a disability or special needs and those in jail, detention or rehab centres. At best Pisceans serve humanity and practice unconditional love. Negatively, they can be victims and martyrs, known for self-sabotage or self- sacrifice. There is also a tendency to rescue or ‘save’ others. In medical astrology, Pisces rules the toes, feet and lymphatic system. There is sometimes a reflex effect on the abdominal region governed by opposite sign, Virgo. When Pisceans are out of balance they often suffer from foot trouble, intestinal diseases and fluid build up. Addiction to drugs and alcohol is also common. The Pisces colours are sea green, purple and the various shades of blue. Pisces greatest lesson is to learn discrimination and to protect and ground themselves.
Venus Eclipse of the Sun – Opening the Heart
On 6th June this year there will be a transit of Venus to the Sun as Venus passes directly between Earth and the Sun, obscuring or eclipsing a small portion of the solar disc. When Venus passes directly in front of the Sun and lines up with the Earth, the resonance of Venus is highly focused on our planet allowing a new level of intuitive awareness to permeate human consciousness. Venus will appear as a small black dot moving across the Sun over a period of a few hours. Such transits are extremely rare - the last occurrence was in June 2004, but before that we need to go back to 1874 and 1882. The next pair of transits will be in 2117 and 2125, so mark the 6th June in your diary as this will be your last chance this lifetime to witness this astronomical event. I’ve featured it in this month’s newsletter so you have time to consider how to integrate the Venus energy into your life.
Venus is the ruler of the heart chacra, the centre of harmony, magnetic attraction, love, romance, creativity and sexual bliss and where we find our capacity for compassion and appreciation of beauty. Venus is also the planet of wealth and resources and plays a prominent role in financial matters and the flow of money. When we are out of balance or acting from a place of fear or judgement, the heart chacra closes up and we have difficulty trusting and giving and receiving love. Our immune system can be adversely affected, leading to a whole host of physical ailments. In contrast, a balanced Venus opens us up to new experiences, helping us radiate love, light and a sense of purpose and maintain optimum health. This transit of Venus to the Sun, being a once in a lifetime event, is a marvellous opportunity to embrace the positive gifts of the goddess of love.
March Full Moon & New Moon
This month’s full moon falls on the 8th on International Women’s Day at 19o Virgo. The Sabian symbol for this degree is ‘a swimming race’, representing the stimulation that comes from group effort towards a spiritual goal. With Virgo being a practical earth sign, the challenge is to ground the spiritual through organised activity and applied effort. Meanwhile, three days after the autumn equinox on the 23rd, we have the March new moon in fire sign Aries. The Sabian symbol for this new moon is ‘participation in a greater life’, referring to the sense of belonging that occurs when we feel as though our life is directed by a divine power, imbuing it with meaning and purpose. The Aries new moon asks us to follow our passion and take a few risks!
Autumn Equinox
March 20th, the autumn equinox, is a key date in the astrological calendar as the sun moves from Pisces to Aries and day and night are of equal length. Many ancient civilisations considered the equinox and solstice points the most important days of the calendar, marking the turning points of the year. For the next six months, nights are longer than days, which means it is time to start withdrawing energy from the outer world and prepare for the cooler months ahead. Stock up your kitchen shelves and freezer and get your house and garden in order. The autumn equinox is a good time to get rid of any unwanted possessions – old clothes, furniture, books, files, CDs, you know the sort of thing. Remember the golden rule of decluttering. ‘Is it useful? Is it beautiful? Is it sentimental?’ If it’s none of these, let it go and make space for something new.
Key Astrological Events - March
Communication planet Mercury moves into fiery Aries on the 2nd. Watch your words carefully as this placement can produce foot in mouth disease! This tendency could be further emphasised as Mercury turns retrograde on the 12th for a three week stint. When Mercury retrogrades through a fire sign, we have the opportunity to identify what inspires us or makes us feel passionate. Here are some common manifestations.
-
The ability to see the past, present and future of possibilities.
-
A lack of apparent direction designed to break up old patterns of expectations.
-
Lots of haphazard attempts to start something as angst about the future brings pressure and forces growth and undeveloped potential to flow from the unconscious.
-
A need to play and be irresponsible and spontaneous, living without conscious purpose.
-
Awareness of sedentary habits may provoke a fitness urge. Psychosomatic illness is common in the area of the psyche that is cramped or under active.
-
Artists block common. Need a change in technique or style.
Sensuous Venus moves into ruling sign Taurus on the 5th and will stay there until early April, putting us all in the mood for love and indulgence. Taurus is one of the most physical of all the zodiac signs with a focus on caring for the body and appearance, so March is the month to buy new clothes, get your hair done, enjoy a massage or pedicure and feed your body with delicious fresh food. Venus and Jupiter form a grand earth trine with Pluto and Mars from the 5th-26th March bringing luck and abundance on the physical plane. This grand trine brings special blessings to earth signs Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn.
March Moon Calendar
Launch projects at the New Moon, bring them to completion in the period from just before the Full Moon to the Third Quarter phase and wind them down and reflect on developments in the week before the next New Moon. The period between the New Moon and the Full Moon is the waxing moon (moon getting bigger and fuller). The period between the Full Moon and the New Moon is the waning moon (moon getting smaller and thinner).
You can use this moon table to select the most favourable days to slow or increase hair regrowth. Full instructions can be found in my Lunar Hair Care guidelines at www.stellastarwoman.com/files/LunarHairCare.pdf but to get you started I’ve marked the best dates for waxing/shaving to slow regrowth in yellow and the best dates to cut hair for thicker, lusher growth in green. If you’re serious about Lunar Hair Care - order your own Moon Calendar from the Stella Starwoman Store then you’ll know exactly what time of day the moon changes from one zodiac sign to the next.
