HAPPY BIRTHDAY ARIES
From the 20th March to the 20th April, the Sun travels through masculine fire sign Aries. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, the seed, the new beginning, the hero. Its keywords are “I am” and “I initiate”. The symbol for Aries is the horned ram who rushes fearlessly into new situations, heedless of danger with no consideration for others. Arians are true individuals, keen to build their own personality and ego. The typical Arian is independent and adventurous, displaying strength, boldness, initiative and courage. Negatively they can be angry, headstrong, selfish, domineering and arrogant. Arians need to learn how to cooperate with others, complete projects they have started and conserve their energy. If you want to annoy an Aries, boss them around or tell them to calm down! Each zodiac sign rules a part of the body. For Aries this is the head. When Arians are out of balance they often suffer from headaches, migraines and injuries to the head. And the Aries colour is red. When we get angry we talk about ‘seeing red’. How to handle an Aries
How do you handle a ram?
Well if you’ve any sense you don’t, and that’s exactly the tack to take with an Arian! This most spontaneous of signs will lead you a merry dance if you try and organise them or talk them into fitting in with your plans. They’re far too busy setting their own agenda to care about yours. Have fun with them instead!
SEDUCING AN ARIES
TIPS FOR MEN
Most Aries females are active and enjoy a challenge. Invite her out horse riding, skiing or dancing - anything that burns up excess energy. This will also give you a chance to prove that you can keep up with her as most can't! Another tip - don't beat around the bush, she likes the direct approach. Display your physical prowess - it won't go unnoticed by this steamy, sexy female. She's looking for an independent partner who won't cramp her style or try and make her behave. Sparks will fly if you try and tell her what to do or think, but she loves a contest or good debate.
TIPS FOR WOMEN
Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and these men like to be number one in their own life. Of course this means you won't have to continually try and impress him - he'll be busy doing his own thing. Show your own independent streak and avoid any kind of clingy or possessive behaviour. Play it straight. Enticing an Aries into a relationship is not always easy. They enjoy their own company and are often happy to be alone. However most Aries secretly long for a partner to share their sense of excitement and fun so having an exciting life of your own is likely to impress. Try passionate kisses or dirty dancing!
NEPTUNE’S FIRST BIRTHDAY!
On Easter Saturday, 11 April 2009, Neptune will return to the exact zodiacal position it occupied when first discovered in 1846, 165 years ago. The following insightful article on the symbolism of Neptune’s ‘first birthday’ was written by Australian astrologer Michele Finey www.celestialinsight.com.au
“Some people sense the human race is on the verge of a significant awakening, that humanity as a whole is about to undergo a spiritual seismic shift of major proportions.
While Neptune is perhaps the most unconscious and mysterious planet of all, when it was discovered it was located in Aquarius, the sign of enlightenment and arguably the most conscious sign of the zodiac.
With this return to its discovery location, Neptune will have traversed the entire zodiac, symbolising our collective spiritual development. Today we have more conscious awareness that all life is inter-connected and are beginning to understand more about the mystery of life. Science and spirit are uniting.
As scientific concepts are merging with mysticism, we are converging towards a worldview, in which everything is connected by magical, mysterious but measurable mathematical patterns, patterns which have always been there, but whose meaning is now becoming “visible” to humanity as a whole.
Amazingly, this Neptune return symbolising this evolutionary process, is accompanied by Chiron, the wounded healer, helping us build bridges across religious divisions. Jupiter too is close by, making the whole experience both joyful and educational, and reinforcing the message of healing, peace, love, universal wisdom and understanding.
Even the most sceptical and cynical are starting to realise that we are all part of one earthly spiritual family. As we connect more deeply with the natural world, we also reconnect with our spirit. Significantly, this once in 165 year event occurs at Easter, a time of rebirth and renewal.” Thanks for the insight Michele! APRIL
ASTRO-ENERGIES
You may feel as though you’re dragging your heels in the first week of April as normally energetic Mars is curtailed by restrictive Saturn, and Venus starts to grind to a standstill. What do Venus and Mars have in common? Well they’re both planets of relationship – Mars ruling sex, libido and passion, while Venus is all about love, beauty and desirability. With Mars and Venus under pressure, we are being asked to examine our key relationships and friendships. Have I fallen in a rut? Is my sex life non-existent? Do I need to leave a partner, friend or business colleague to maintain integrity? Honesty is the best policy, even if the truth seems painful or confronting. Remember if you are feeling dissatisfied, others will feel the same, so it could be a relief when one of you has the courage to open the discussion.
Another possible scenario is that former partners, friends or workmates will re-appear in your life, sometimes out of the blue. Reconciliations are just as likely as ruptures, so if you have been thinking about contacting someone from your past, pick up the phone, knowing the planets are on your side. Chances are they will have been thinking about you too!
If you look to the pre-dawn sky in early April, you will see Venus beginning her Morning Star phase, rising ahead of the Sun. The Venus retrograde cycle completes on the 18th, when Venus turns direct at 29º Pisces flanked by Mars and Uranus from the 12th-22nd. Any stalemate or crisis that has arisen over the past few weeks should resolve itself at this time, restoring clarity and coherence. Creative projects that have stalled or been on hold can often be resumed again. Some relationships will not survive this period. You may not like what you see, but it will be the truth. Some of us avoid change or conflict at all costs, settling for a comfortable, yet unfulfilling lifestyle or a life devoid of passion. The planetary line-ups in April will challenge that status quo, so be prepared!
Communication planet Mercury is in fiery Aries until the 10th, when it moves into practical Taurus till the end of the month. Mercury in Aries is a good time for brainstorming, debating or tackling difficult situations or decisions, while Mercury in Taurus is better for measured thinking, practical planning and business and financial matters.
The April full moon is on Friday 10th in artistic Libra. Spend a romantic evening or weekend with your partner, invite friends round for a party or attend a concert or cultural event.
The Sun joins Mercury in Taurus on the 20th. With only two months to the winter solstice and the shortest day of the year, it’s time to prepare for the colder weather ahead and start to conserve energy. Taurus is a sensual, physical energy so get plenty of fresh air, warm food and deep sleep. Walks in nature will prove soothing and balancing.
The energy changes on the 23rd as Mars leaves watery Pisces and heads into home sign Aries followed by Venus on the 24th and the Taurus new moon on the 25th. This is a great time to start a new business, a new relationship or plan a new start in an existing relationship. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and contains the energy of the new seed as does the new moon. If you feel a burst of energy in late April, make the most of it and engage in fun physical activity, sex, home renovations and any activity that gets the blood flowing. But avoid power struggles, arguments and manipulative behaviour in key relationships as both Venus and Mars make a challenging aspect to Pluto in the final week of the month.
APRIL NEW MOON / FULL MOON
The April full moon is on the 10th in Libra, which complements the relationship theme mentioned above. With the Sun in Aries (ruled by Mars) and the Moon in Libra (ruled by Venus), we are dealing with the male female polarity and the need to balance giving and taking in our lives. Think about what this means for you.
The April new moon is in sensual Taurus on the 25th. Enjoy pleasures of the flesh - wine, women and song is a good start (the older version of sex, drugs and rock ‘n roll) or for the more sensible among us, how about a financial health check?
APRIL MOON CALENDAR
Launch projects at the New Moon, bring them to completion in the period from just before the Full Moon to the Third Quarter phase and wind them down and reflect on developments in the week before the next New Moon.
