Hi and welcome to the Stella Starwoman April AstroUpdate as we continue to bask in the energy generated by last week’s Aries New Moon. With both Mars and Mercury turning direct this month, April looks set to be a sensational month! Hope you have a great Easter break - I look forward to catching up with those of you who’ve signed up for my Magic & Manifestation Course and Tarot Workshops later this month. Stella xx
Magic & Manifestation Course- Starts 17th April
My next eight week Magic & Manifestation Course is starting up on Tuesday 17th April from 7.30 – 9.30 pm in Elwood, Melbourne BUT BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR....
Hi Stella, Once again I need to express my gratitude towards your amazing Magic & Manifestation course. I just wanted to share my joy with you, that in the recent month I’ve had two agencies wanting to sign me on their books and I’ve just made my decision and signed with the best of the two. In the last three weeks, several things that were on my vision board have come true. I shot a big window campaign for my dream client General Pants, and another client flew me first class to Sydney. I kid you not when I say there was a big photo of a General Pants window on my vision board and a photo of me flying first class! And other things that weren’t on the board but are still amazing steps in my career have happened - I shot a big editorial for GQ magazine, Olympus sent me a free camera and want me to take a photo for a billboard campaign AND I won $2,500 dollars in a photography prize! Secrets of the Major Arcana- Tarot Workshop
Sunday 15th April – Book Now!
Meet the Fool, the Empress, the Magician & all the other exciting characters of the Tarot Major Arcana.
Hi Stella, Just a quick note to say thank you again for yesterdays workshop. I thoroughly enjoyed the workshop because you seem to be very grounded, real and practical while still being connected to spirit. Not airy, fairy or too esoteric for the sake of it. This is what I was looking for in a teacher of the Tarot. See you at the next workshop! Nicole. xx
If you’ve always dreamed of learning to read tarot for yourself or friends and family, this morning workshop is a great place to start. And it’s specially designed for those with little or no knowledge of Tarot who’d like to learn more about this fascinating subject.
The twenty two cards of the Tarot Major Arcana tell the story of the Fool’s Journey from innocence through childhood, adolescence, love, trial, tribulation, sacrifice and wisdom towards enlightenment and fulfilment. The Fool is Everyman or Everywoman. We can use the Major Arcana cards to learn more about the process of individuation or we can interpret the images individually as they relate to our lives at any given point.
This workshop is designed to be both practical and esoteric, both fun and educational. By the end of the morning you’ll have learned heaps about yourself and I guarantee you’ll be itching to get home and try out all the spreads you’ve learned. Bookings are essential and payment is in advance by cheque, money order, internet bank transfer or credit card.

Featured Sign-Aries
From the 20th March to the 20th April, the Sun travels through masculine fire sign Aries. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, the seed, the new beginning, the hero. Its keywords are “I am” and “I initiate”. The symbol for Aries is the horned ram who rushes fearlessly into new situations, heedless of danger with no consideration for others. Arians are true individuals, keen to build their own personality and ego. The typical Arian is youthful, independent and adventurous, displaying strength, boldness, initiative and courage. Negatively they can be angry, headstrong, selfish, domineering and arrogant. Arians need to learn how to cooperate with others, complete projects they have started and conserve their energy. If you want to annoy an Aries, boss them around or tell them to calm down! Each zodiac sign rules a part of the body. For Aries this is the head. When Arians are out of balance they often suffer from headaches, migraines and injuries to the head. And the Aries colour is red. When we get angry we talk about ‘seeing red’.
Jupiter- Venus Conjunction
Jupiter and Venus, the two brightest planets in our solar system have been travelling side by side throughout March putting on a spectacular show for a few hours after sunset each evening. Although the planets appear to be close together, Venus is actually 122 million km from Earth, while Jupiter is a massive 844 million km away! Some people believe that the Star of Bethlehem, which heralded the birth of Christ, was in fact a close conjunction between Jupiter and Venus. This beautiful photo was taken by Laurent Laveder, a French photographer, but as I was writing this article, AstroUpdate subscriber Marty Stringer (Melbourne musician and photographer) sent me his own photos of the Jupiter-Venus conjunction taken in Cadiz, Spain where he now lives. You can check out his beautiful photos at this link. Gracias Marty!

April Full Moon
Did you know that Easter Sunday always falls on the Sunday after the first full moon of the northern hemisphere spring equinox? This full moon is known as the paschal moon (7th April this year in Libra) and also marks Pesach, the Jewish Passover. Yes, Easter does have an astronomical basis! Because Jesus was crucified on a Friday and resurrected the following Sunday during the eight day Jewish holiday of Passover, Christians take the paschal moon combined with the equinox to fix the date of Easter, which varies from year to year. Good Friday this year falls on the 6th April and Easter Sunday on the 8th.
The Sabian Symbol for the April full moon shows two men being arrested, referring to the idea that though we all enjoy free will, we need to face the consequences of our actions and decisions. The March new moon in the lead up to this full moon was conjunct retrograde Mercury and Uranus in independent and impulsive fire sign Aries. Whatever we began at the March new moon (23rd March) will reach fruition at the Easter weekend, meaning we’ll either be reaping the harvest or facing the music!
April New Moon
The April new moon is on the 21st in sensuous earth sign Taurus. The Taurus new moon encourages us to take care of our physical body, including the food we eat, the air we breathe, the rest we take and the clothes and cosmetics we wear. Treating your body with love and consideration is the first step toward increased emotional, physical and sexual wellbeing.
Key Astrological Events - March
Communication planet Mercury will re-enter Aries on the 17th April after resuming direct motion on the 4th April following a three-week long retrograde passage through Aries and Pisces. We should be able to see things more clearly, clear up misunderstandings and plan for the future with confidence.
But... the big question this month is: “What was Mars retrograde like for you?” or more accurately, “What is Mars retrograde still like for you?” as that fiery beast continues to travel backwards through the night sky and will do so until mid April. Mars with its reddish tinge has been clearly visible rising in the eastern sky just after sunset over the past month and I’ve enjoyed watching it from my balcony by night, while listening with sympathy to how it’s been affecting my clients’ lives by day. Break ups, resignations, confrontations, outbursts of anger, arguments, fevers, burns, scalds, car accidents, passive aggression – you name it. But also lots of passion, courageous risk taking and people standing up for themselves, asking for pay rises, demanding better treatment at home or work or more time off. It seems much more acceptable in our culture to feel low or depressed than to feel angry, but let’s face it - Mars is all about getting mad and spitting the dummy!
Many astrology columns have been referring to the marvellous grand trine of mid-March when Jupiter, Venus, Mars and Pluto formed a triangle in the sky in earth signs Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn. Now normally this would be a very positive line up, but it seems that as Mars was part of the picture, this grand trine simply exacerbated whatever was going on in peoples’ lives for good or for bad.
The whole purpose of the bi-annual Mars retrograde transit is to force us to align our actions with our true desires – if you’re already doing this, you’ll barely have noticed anything happening over the past couple of months. But if you’ve been consistently overriding gut feelings, messages from the heart and intuitive hunches with your rational mind, you’ve probably experienced the more negative side of the transit. This final part of the Mars retro cycle offers clarity and understanding. As the old ways become redundant or obsolete, there is time to pause and consider what needs to be done to maintain integrity. Once Mars turns direct (14th April) it is time to deal with the fallout from the past couple of months. We instinctively know if a relationship, situation, circumstance or condition is unsustainable and are likely to make radical changes. There is usually a total re-evaluation of the course of action needed to reclaim personal power. And on a more positive note, projects that have stalled will begin to run smoothly again.
April Moon Calendar
Launch projects at the New Moon, bring them to completion in the period from just before the Full Moon to the Third Quarter phase and wind them down and reflect on developments in the week before the next New Moon. The period between the New Moon and the Full Moon is the waxing moon (moon getting bigger and fuller). The period between the Full Moon and the New Moon is the waning moon (moon getting smaller and thinner).
You can use this moon table to select the most favourable days to slow or increase hair regrowth. Full instructions can be found in my Lunar Hair Care guidelines at www.stellastarwoman.com/files/LunarHairCare.pdf but to get you started I've marked the best dates for waxing/shaving to slow regrowth in yellow and the best dates to cut hair for thicker, lusher growth in green. If you‟re serious about Lunar Hair Care - order your own Moon Calendar from the Stella Starwoman Store then you'll know exactly what time of day the moon changes from one zodiac sign to the next.
