AstroUpdate – November 2009

By Stella Woods, 01-11-2009

Hi and welcome to the Stella Starwoman November AstroUpdate!

I’ve been very rebellious and instead of sending this newsletter out at the end of October, I’ve been partying over the Melbourne Cup weekend and enjoying the full moon energy. Sailing, swimming, sunbathing, strolling and punting. Just what the doctor ordered. And yes I had a small voice in my head telling me I should be working, but for once, I ignored it and that felt great. I encourage you to do the same from time to time, especially if you have the moon in Virgo like me (or Capricorn - another ‘over dutiful’ moon sign)!

And talking of moon signs, I’m promoting two moon-based products this month for your enjoyment and education, given that over half of you have told me you’re interested in emotional balance and lunar cycles. If you’d like to order a moon calendar or moon diary, you’ll find a booking form at the end of this newsletter or simply call (03) 9534 5021 with your credit card details.

2010 Moon Calendar

Firstly the magnificent Thomas Zimmer Astrological Calendar and Moon Planting Guide - in my view, the best available in Australia. Now Thomas Zimmer is not only an amazing astrologer, he is quite remarkable in that he has no telephone, no fax machine, no website and no email address! Thomas lives in an old farmhouse bordering the World Heritage listed Tweed Valley in the very bosom of Mother Nature complete with veggie garden, solar power etc etc. So, by purchasing one of Thomas’s calendars, not only are you supporting a visionary Australian, but you’re buying a year’s supply of moon wisdom from a pure source. I have his calendar about one foot from my desk and refer to it daily. Thomas presents an astrological/political overview for the year and gives information on gardening by the moon, new moon/full moon cycles, eclipses, daily moon placements with interpretations and much, much more. In marketing speak this calendar is a ‘must have’.

Cost $15 (includes P&P anywhere in Australia)

2010 Moon Diary

And secondly, if you’re after a diary, my recommendation is the 2010 Moontime Diary another Australian made product from Iris and Gisela. Printed on 100% recycled paper with a soft-bound, smart dark blue cover, it’s packed with information about how to fine tune your life to the cycles of the moon and tread lightly on the planet. Want to know when to cut your hair to slow regrowth or encourage curls? When to plant those seedlings, harvest those vegetables or begin that creative project? The information is all in here in a very accessible, easy-to-follow format. The diary also has a monthly ephemeris, for those who like to track planetary positions. These wonderful women have done all the hard work for you and with Christmas just around the corner, this could be the perfect, low-stress shopping solution for PCT (Pre-Christmas Tension).

Cost $36 (includes P&P anywhere in Australia). Orders (03) 9534 5021 or fill in the booking form below

Astrology & Tarot Courses 2010

I’ve just uploaded all the 2010 course and workshop info to my websites, so if you’re keen to learn more about astrology, tarot or magic & manifestation, visit www.stellastarwoman.com (astrology, magic) or www.tarotforthejourney.com (tarot). There’s also a summary of course details at the end of this newsletter and based on your feedback, I’m also holding some afternoon tarot and astrology workshops in February. Bookings for all courses and workshops are now open.

Featured Sign-Scorpio

The Sun travels through water sign Scorpio from the 23rd October until 22nd November. Scorpio is the eighth sign of the zodiac with keywords “I survive” and “I am intense”. Scorpio has three symbols, the scorpion, representing Scorpio’s lower nature, her jealousy, desire for revenge and tendency to manipulate others; the eagle, representing Scorpio’s ability to soar above emotional attachment thus accessing the true power of the sign and finally the holy dove, symbol of divine love, compassion and forgiveness. Those born under the sign of the Scorpion are usually loyal, strong and courageous. They love exploring the mysteries of life – birth, death, sexuality, reincarnation and anything taboo. They have a reputation for being passionate, secretive and highly sexual and due to their emotional intensity, often have to deal with issues of trust and betrayal. Negatively, Scorpios can be possessive, jealous, vindictive, destructive and manipulative, particularly when hurt or betrayed. In medical astrology, Scorpio rules the organs of elimination and reproduction including the urinary tract, bowel, prostate gland and nasal bones. When Scorpios are out of balance they can suffer from haemorrhoids, constipation, urinary tract infections, menstrual and reproductive problems plus catarrh and sinus problems. The Scorpio colours are dark red, purple, dark green and black. Scorpio’s greatest lesson is to learn to let go on an emotional level and forgive. Pluto and Mars rule Scorpio, so those with a strong Pluto or Mars in their chart often display Scorpionic qualities.

November Astro-Energies

The November full moon is in earthy Taurus on the 3rd opposing Mercury and the Sun in Scorpio and squaring Mars in Leo. Taurus, Leo and Scorpio are all fixed zodiac signs, meaning they hate to budge, so watch out for conflict or inner turmoil and avoid over-reacting, especially to situations out of your control. The full moon energy is exacerbated by Saturn forming a tight square with transformational Pluto shattering old structures and beliefs, particularly for Librans and Capricorns.

Neptune turns direct on the 5th in Aquarius until May next year. Neptune is a symbol of collective energy, so ideals and visions about the future of our planet can now be activated. Neptune has been travelling alongside visionary Jupiter and healing Chiron for the whole of 2009.

Relationship goddess Venus moves into water sign Scorpio on the 8th for the rest of November, promising passionate encounters, but also a tendency towards jealousy or possessiveness. Plan a romantic weekend with your partner or buy some new, sexy underwear! On the 16th, Mercury heads into intellectual Sagittarius so if you’ve been short of ideas, the creative juices will flow again. Take time out for brainstorming and problem solving.

The November new moon falls on the 17th in passionate Scorpio and two days later, Venus (love) and Mars (sex) form a challenging square forcing us to compromise between our own desires and those of others. Some will be tempted to indulge in a spending spree in the latter part of November as self indulgent Venus meets over-the-top Jupiter. In fact, this combo is noted for over-indulgence of all kinds! Finally the Sun heads into fire sign Sagittarius on the 22nd in the lead up to the festive season.
