Uranus entered air sign Gemini in July 2025, heralding seven whole years of radical change in communication, education, transportation, technology and media.
This maverick planet is associated with brilliance, genius, upheaval, innovation, revolution, rebellion and scientific and technological progress. It’s the planet of shake-ups, wake-ups, and breakthroughs, with staleness and routine replaced by urgency and speed.
Put the energy of Uranus together with mutable Gemini, the zodiac's chief communicator, and the results will be exponential. This is time speeding up - new ways of thinking; new ways of connecting and communicating; increased psychic sensitivity and massive scientific and technological advancement.
And with transformational Pluto in fellow air sign Aquarius during this whole seven-year period, we will see change that, right now, is unimaginable.

AI is already mainstream, disrupting what we think of as normal. You may have spent years perfecting your craft or developing your niche - but that competitive advantage could disappear overnight. Think outside the box and take advantage of the new technology.

Automation and robotics will increasingly replace human labour in industry and the home. Disruptive technological change like this has happened in the past and will happen again. You will survive.
Free Energy?
I recently watched a documentary 'The Lost Century: And How to Reclaim It' by Dr Steven Greer exploring the dozens of proven free or low-cost energy production methods developed over the last 120 years. Nikola Tesla was just one pioneer.
According to Greer, each time someone has rediscovered the 'secret' to generating free energy, they've either been silenced, shut down, ridiculed or even murdered by governments and those with vested interests. Greer believes that if just one researcher had been willing or able to publicise their methodology online worldwide, such suppression would not have been possible.
Let's hope with Uranus in Gemini someone will finally reveal the 'secret' to free energy. Imagine the implications for oil magnates, petrochemical firms, energy suppliers, vehicle manufacturers... not to mention the rest of us!
Education
Why pay for college and run up a huge debt when you can learn anything you want online, for free? And by extension, why fund universities and academics? Just as the invention of the printing press and translation of medical and religious texts from Latin and Greek smashed many ivory towers, AI will do the same.
Knowledge has always equalled power, but the potential for knowledge to be available to all, will level the academic playing field. Confronting? Maybe…but there are huge opportunities to learn and grow.
Language & International Communication
We already have apps that translate voice and text - these will become even more efficient and seamless. Meaning we'll be able to talk to anyone, anywhere in the world and beyond and understand them in real time. Learning a foreign language will still be fun, worthwhile and fulfilling, but it won't be a necessity.
Public & Private Transport
More of it, better infrastructure, more destinations, cheaper, quicker and hopefully less polluting means of transport. Shift away from petrol/gas fuelled vehicles. The space race. And if we rediscover the secret to producing free energy, things will change overnight.
Media & Telecommunications
New ways of publishing content and receiving news. Uranus in Gemini may herald the death of newspapers, magazines and the whole print industry. Remember all those monks copying medieval texts with pen and ink? The Gutenberg printing press was invented back in 1444, when Uranus was in Gemini, and the monks were out of a job.
As the information superhighway grows larger each year, everything ever written, painted, broadcast or filmed will be available on demand. The whole idea of consensus reality and national broadcasting with traditional TV channels could disappear.
Communication with Other Dimensions
Western scientific culture relies on facts and evidence, or at least, facts and evidence that support the status quo. Anything that doesn't fit the dominant paradigm is immediately dismissed as fraudulent or ridiculous. It's been that way for thousands of years and people have even been put to death for their outrageous ideas.
Recently, there's been a significant rise in channelled information, UFO and crop circle sightings, remote healing, telepathy, remote viewing and all sorts of other 'non-scientific' activity. Given the word 'science' originally came from the Latin 'scientia' and 'scire' meaning 'knowledge' and 'to know', I'd like to think we don't know everything and with Uranus in Gemini we might just learn a whole lot more.
Local Communities
Gemini rules neighbourhoods, so we will see more examples of communal living - food banks; swapping tools and resources; bartering; vegetable plots; car pools; shared childcare etc. Instead of waiting for councils and local authorities to step up, people will organise their own systems.
Digital & Cryptocurrency
It's only a matter of time before digital currency becomes mainstream, both centralised and decentralised. In the developed world, the majority of financial transactions are already digital. As artificial intelligence helps governments keep track of their citizens, it's likely that any method of avoiding surveillance, particularly financial surveillance (cash/cryptocurrency) will increase in popularity.
Disinformation, Technological Warfare & Cyber Attacks
We've already seen how social media can be used to manipulate public opinion and skew election results. How scammers prey on unsuspecting victims to secure money, sex, personal information and power. And how past behaviour, gossip and private conversations can be weaponised, leading to sackings, public humiliation and cancel culture. Expect an increase in all these things with Uranus in Gemini. Too much information can be a dangerous thing.
Revolution & War
Uranus was in Gemini in both 19th and 20th centuries, bookending the American Civil War (1861 to 1865) and World War II (1941 to 1945).
There may not be a traditional war this time round, but we'll definitely see rebellion, protests and revolution. People fighting for their freedom, for ideals and for freedom of speech. And in particular, fighting with words (Gemini). Challenges to old beliefs and ways of thinking. An increase in people banding together, joining unions and clamouring for class consciousness and social/cultural/political change.
George Orwell's chilling novel about totalitarianism '1984' was written in 1948-1949, last time Uranus was in Gemini.
Cults & Radical Mentalities
Both Gemini and Uranus are noted for progressive ideas, but ideas can be used to control others. We're likely to experience polarised political parties; the rise of cults; radical and confronting viewpoints and an increase in cancel culture and people being ostracised for what they believe or think. We'll also see more people detaching from mainstream society - self-employment; living off grid; quiet revolution; refusing to conform.
Sexuality
Uranus in Gemini will challenge and expand sexual norms. This could be anything from a rise in voluntary celibacy; polyamory and bisexuality (androgenous Gemini is the sign of the twins) to widespread acceptance and celebration of the LGBTQ+ community and anything and everything in between. We no longer have strict dress codes, and under Uranus in Gemini we are likely to ditch rigid ideas about how people relate to each other. Your body, your choice.
Mental Health
Uranus in Gemini can only be described as 'wired'. Its energy is electrical, super-sensitive and hyperactive. When positively channelled it produces genius and flashes of insight, blending spirituality, science and consciousness. When out of control it can lead to mental instability and delusion. Makes me think of the Pink Floyd song 'Shine On You Crazy Diamond' written by musicians with Uranus in Gemini about former bandmate Syd Barrett who also had Uranus in Gemini.
To combat this excess of electrical energy, get plenty of rest, spend time in nature and trust your inner voice.
Extreme Weather
Expect more earthquakes and volcanic activity, more extreme weather events, especially lighting and storms and power outages.
Generational Change
Those born between 1941 and 1949 will experience their Uranus return over the next seven years, as all were born with Uranus in Gemini. I think of this cohort as the true Baby Boomers - people who came of age in the 1960s and early 1970s. They think quite differently from those born in the 1920 and 1930s and pioneered immense social, political and cultural changes.
Those born with Uranus in Sagittarius (1981-1988) will experience their Uranus opposition, which occurs around age 42. At midlife there can be a feeling of time running out - the solution for this generation is to embrace authenticity and freedom and hold firm to their ideals.
